This is how I roll!

This is very short, but it took me about 6 takes in order to get a got shot of her without Pepper running up to her. I initially laid her on her back on the mat to wash the dishes and when I looked down a few minutes and she was on her belly. I rushed to get the camera and then it took her 10 minutes to roll over again. She almost made it a few times and was getting so frustrated, but finally made it all the way over. (oh, and you might want to mute your computer to avoid hearing my high pitched voice)

She is rolling over quite a bit now and also blowing raspberries ALL THE TIME! It is so cute! I haven't yet been able to catch it on camera but will post it as soon as I do.

We are off to bed now after a very looong day (but the Cubs did win, yay!)

Go Cubs Go!!

Maddie has gotten caught up in all the excitement of opening day and hopes the Cubs will win their home opener tomorrow.

Solid foods!

I'm still not feeling well but I have been promising pictures of Madeline trying out solid foods so here the are.

We started out with just rice cereal, which you can tell she LOVES!





Then, once she got used to the cereal and eating from a spoon we started giving her baby food. She definitely enjoys the fruits better than the veggies, but I couldn't pass up these two pictures of her eating sweet potatoes.



As you can see, she still trying to get the hang of getting most of it her mouth!

And this sly look of hers is hysterical!!



She is so cute now when we feed her, she is constantly reaching for the spoon trying to get it in her mouth faster. We keep having to bat her hands away in order to keep her from having baby food ALL OVER herself! The move and opening day are consuming our lives right now, but once we move I will try to upload more videos of her.

Sick

Ugghhh - I am sick again this winter! This has been the third of fourth time that I have come down with something in the last few months and it is not fun. I woke up felling bad yesterday and it just got worse as the day went on. I fell asleep on the couch yesterday at 6pm with Maddie playing in her bouncy seat on the floor in front of me. Alex came home shortly after that and took Maddie and let me rest. He woke e up around 8pm and made me chicken noodle soup for dinner. After feeding Maddie I was back asleep on the sofa by 10:30 and slept there all night. I fell a little better today but I'm still really congested and have a sore throat. All I want right now is to curl into bed and nap (and snuggle with Pepper) but I don't have any sick days left so I am having to suck it up. The only up side is that Maddie has not caught it and is still her happy self. I don't know if I could handle both of us being sick at the same time.

I know most of you just want to see pictures of Maddie so I will post some as soon as I'm feeling better.

Finally starting to earn her keep!

As daddy like to say! Maddie has finally decided to do a little work for her meals and has begun to hold her bottle. I think she really was just sick and tired of us trying to take it away half way through to burp her. Because we use drop in bottles she can grip the bottom of the bottle and it is so funny to watch her if you try to pull the bottle out of her mouth. She will pull so hard on the bottom of that bottle! After we found her top soaked in milk Sunday morning we realized that she is still perfecting her act a little, but it will be so nice when we can lay her in her boppy, hand her a bottle and have some time for both of us to get ready.








She also is still really enjoying eating cereal and baby food, I'll add some pictures of that tomorrow!

Happy Easter!!

We had such a great day today with such perfect weather! We went to church with Alex's family this morning, and Madeline was definitely the star of the place. She didn't make a peep the entire service and every one stopped to tell us how beautiful and good she was and we 100% agree! After church we went to Alex's mom's house to for lunch with everyone. Here is Maddie going through her Easter basket: (and before I get a lot of phone calls, no, she is not sitting on her own it just looks that way in the picture)



Just a few days ago, Ninnie sent us a care package that included my Easter dress that she made for me when I was a baby, so of course Madeline had to wear it for her first Easter.



The weather was so nice here we were able to get outside to take a few pictures, including a new family shot.



And since we can't ever get her to look happy for our family pictures I will leave you with this picture:

This being a baby thing is hard work!!
