Easter (part 2)

After we got through all the Easter baskets we got dressed and headed off to church. After church we all went to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (yum) then headed over to Grandma and Papa's house for the egg hunt!

Daddy did an awesome job of hiding the eggs!

And Grandma gave Maddie this gorgeous basket for her eggs.

Maddie was ready to go (unfortunately I waited until the afternoon with only a 30 minute nap to try and get a picture of her so this was the best I could get)

but not so anxious that she couldn't spend a few minutes of girl time with her best friend.

She needed to be shown what to do with the first egg

But then she was off. I'm kind of glad that she was the only kid because I'm afraid she might have pushed another kid out of the way of some of those eggs!

After she had all the eggs she wanted to check out the neighbors yard to see if any were over there.

And again, when you wait until the end of the day to take pictures this is the best you're going to get.

Easter (part 1)

First, Madeline hopes everyone had a HAPPY EASTER!!

We started off the morning with yummy cinnamon rolls.

Which led to a bath before we went through her Easter basket. At first she wasn't sure what was going on but quickly realized that there were some cool things coming out of this basket!

This cute chick makes chirping noises and Pepper was really into which did not make Maddie happy.

Then we moved on to the package she had received from my parents and grandparents.

Hmmm, what's this stuff?

Mom says if i save it in my piggy bank I can have some candy!

Now how do I get this open?

Maybe I'll just keep the money. What, where'd it go?

Mom, I would like some candy NOW!

Egg hunt coming up tomorrow!

Working Hard for Her Money!

I stayed home with Maddie today although her eyes are looking so much better! She probably could have gone to daycare but I figured a few mores days away from all the other kids wouldn't hurt. I ended up having to go into work to take care of a few things so she went with me. She was a very hard working and while she didn't close any sales she definitely got a ton of smiles from everyone!

Sneak Peek

I forgot to get some good before pictures, but here is the color of the walls

After a few hours with my trusty assistant

This is the new color, I love it, it's so much warmer!

Final pictures still to come because we have not yet hung a large mirror I want up so we're waiting to get that done until we move everything back into place.

We are also dealing with the dreaded pink eye. That's right, it's been going around Maddie's school and we were hoping that it might miss us but we weren't that lucky. We've started the drops but I still may be staying home with her tomorrow which I'm actually a little upset about because she will miss the Easter egg hunt they'll have tomorrow. Her eyes are gross right now so I don't have any new pictures but here are a few recent ones.

Someone knows where their belly is!

And also knows how to fill it!

A Scene From Our Morning

Typically in the mornings when Maddie stirs Alex will get up to get her and let Pepper out. We spend a few minutes all in our bed watching Mickey Mouse Playhouse before I have to get up to start getting ready. That gives Maddie a few minutes with just her Daddy each morning to cuddle.

This morning Alex had to be at work very early so it was just the two of us. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and when I came back into the bedroom this is what I saw:

We usually always ask Maddie to love on Pepper because we think it's super cute but she rarely does it on her own and gentle enough that Pepper doesn't jump up and run off. I think this morning they were both missing there cuddle time with Daddy.

Now I'm off for a full day of painting our living room. Yes, I've finally decided on a color about six months after I decided to paint the room. Alex is so happy to see the numerous sample patches I've painted go.

First Spring Trip to the Park

One of the things I really love about our village is all the great parks they have. We are lucky that two blocks to the east of us is a fantastic little park. It's also nice that two blocks to the north of this park is a much bigger park with a track, large playground and tennis and basket ball courts. It attracts most of the older kids leaving the smaller park for the little kids like Maddie. Last week we decided to take our first trip of the season to the park to play. I was so excited to take Maddie since the last time she went the only thing she could do was swing.

As you can see, Maddie was really excited too!

She decided to test out the bridge first and after some slight hesitation she was off!

Then Pepper and Daddy showed up to play with us to.

Next she wanted to try out the swings.

Can you tell what her new "excited" face is these days? It's usually accompanied by a "woah".

Finally, she decided that after months of practice on the indoor slide we have here at home that she was ready for the real thing. She loved it!

It was so great to be able to see her explore all the new things she could do and so fun to watch her as she tried each part of the playground.

This will definitely a spot that we visit a lot this summer!
